IU has canceled her planned September concert at Goyang Stadium and delayed the release schedule for her sixth full-length album after a chronic ear condition worsened, forcing a wider adjustment to her 2026 activities.

The singer and actor shared the update with fans on July 20 through the fan communication platform Berriz, explaining that symptoms linked to patulous Eustachian tube had recently become more difficult to manage. Her agency, EDAM Entertainment, separately confirmed that the decision was made after discussions focused on her health and ability to perform in strong condition.

The Goyang show had been expected to serve as a major live event in IU’s second-half calendar. Instead, the concert and subsequent performance plans will be rescheduled, with the agency saying details about future album and concert timing will be announced later through official channels.

Patulous Eustachian tube is a condition in which the passage connecting the middle ear to the back of the nose remains abnormally open. IU told fans that the condition had been familiar to her for years and did not create major problems in ordinary daily life. The issue, she explained, is that singing and live performance are directly connected to ear condition, and recent symptoms had continued day and night for several days at a time. She said it had become repeatedly difficult to find her usual vocal condition while singing.

Specialists advised that a high-movement concert, particularly one involving extended singing and heavy physical exertion, would be difficult for the time being. That assessment led to the cancellation of the September Goyang Stadium concert rather than an attempt to push ahead with a show that might compromise her recovery or performance quality.

EDAM Entertainment said IU’s symptoms are not currently causing serious disruption to everyday life, but emphasized that the decision was made so she can eventually meet fans on stage in the best possible condition. The company said it will support her recovery and work toward a return when her health allows.
