Jang Min Ho, Cheon Rok Dam, Kim Yong Pil and Na Tae Joo Set September K-Trot Shows in Los Angeles

Four prominent Korean trot singers are preparing to take the genre to Los Angeles this September. Jang Min Ho, Cheon Rok Dam, Kim Yong Pil and Na Tae Joo will headline the NOM.NOM.NOM SHOW, a two-night event designed as a formal Korean music gala rather than a conventional arena concert.
The performances are scheduled for September 25 and 26 at the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. Organizer LV Nexus has framed the event as a chance to introduce K-trot directly to audiences in the United States while pairing live entertainment with other areas of Korean culture and lifestyle.
Four singers, four distinct stage identities
The lineup brings together performers with contrasting images and performance styles. Promotional material assigns each singer a playful character: Jang Min Ho is presented as the handsome and stylish member, Cheon Rok Dam as the versatile all-rounder, Kim Yong Pil as the romantic gentleman, and Na Tae Joo as the energetic performer who rises above the competition.
Those labels give the show a simple ensemble structure while leaving room for the artists’ individual strengths. The program is expected to feature signature songs from the four singers, alongside stages drawing from pop and Latin music. That broader musical mix suggests the production will use trot as its foundation while giving an international audience several familiar points of entry.
The setting is also part of the concept. Billed as a K-Music Celebrity Gala Night, the event will place the performances inside a downtown hotel ballroom. The venue and formal presentation distinguish the project from the festival and theater formats often used for overseas Korean music appearances.
A retro visual concept supports the live program
The show’s promotional campaign adopts the atmosphere of a 1970s New York musical. Posters and video material feature the cast in formal attire, creating a polished, theatrical identity ahead of the Los Angeles dates. Visual artist Ji Young Bin directed the shoot, while the performers wore clothing by formalwear brand Lord & Taylor.
Producer Park Sun Joo is overseeing the project. The production has been described as an effort to place K-trot alongside different musical and cultural elements, with the goal of giving American audiences a clear introduction to the genre. Kim Yong Pil has also emphasized the performers’ intention to prepare a show that allows local concertgoers to experience trot’s appeal firsthand.
Broadcaster Kim Woo Jung will serve as host, providing continuity across the individual stages and the gala-style program. Following the concerts, a separate after-party is planned for VIP attendees at Hotel Indigo Los Angeles. Together, the ballroom performance and post-show event position the project as a packaged evening of entertainment rather than a stand-alone set of songs.
K-trot meets a wider cultural presentation
The production also includes a commercial collaboration with Korean beauty brand Houry. The company is participating as an official sponsor and plans to provide selected products to the performers and VIP guests. The partnership reflects the organizer’s aim to present the concert alongside another Korean consumer category already being introduced to the US market.
For the singers, the Los Angeles engagement provides a concentrated overseas showcase built around recognizable personalities and a carefully defined visual theme. For the organizers, the two-night schedule offers a practical test of how a premium, hospitality-led format can support Korean trot outside its home market.
The event does not attempt to present trot as interchangeable with mainstream idol pop. Instead, its cast, repertoire and formal staging emphasize the genre’s own performance traditions while using cross-genre arrangements and a retro musical aesthetic to make the program accessible. The September dates will show how that combination translates for an audience gathered in one of the largest Korean cultural hubs in the United States.
