Han Hyo Joo and Gong Myoung Lead MBC Baseball Romance Your Ground

Han Hyo Joo and Gong Myoung will lead MBC’s upcoming drama Your Ground, a working literal title that combines professional baseball with youth romance. Kim Shin Rok and Sung Joon have also joined the main cast, and the series is scheduled to premiere near the end of 2026.
The story follows a former star pitcher whose career stalls after a life-changing setback. His attempt to return to the mound begins when he reunites with his first love, a successful lawyer who has unexpectedly become a sports agent. Their relationship connects the drama’s romantic arc to the pressures of competition and career recovery.
Han Hyo Joo enters the world of sports representation
Han Hyo Joo plays Seo Hee Seung, a skilled attorney who has never lost a trial. Her professional path changes when the head of her law firm sends her to Donghaeng, a leading sports agency, placing her inside professional baseball despite her limited knowledge of the game.
What Hee Seung lacks in baseball experience, she compensates for with a fierce competitive drive. Her transition from lawyer to agent gives the character a new arena for negotiation and strategy, while forcing her to learn the practical demands of managing athletes and their careers.
After beginning her new life at the agency, Hee Seung meets Kang Hae Hwan again for the first time in 11 years. The reunion with her first love triggers a series of unpredictable changes, linking her personal history to the player whose professional future she is now expected to help rebuild.
Gong Myoung portrays Hae Hwan, a right-handed pitcher for the Miracles. Once praised as a genius pitcher and a future ace from his high school years, he falls into a prolonged slump after a shocking incident changes the direction of his career. Hee Seung’s arrival as his agent opens a possible route back.
A comeback complicated by rivalry
Hae Hwan’s goal is not simply to recover his old form. His absence from the mound has changed the Miracles’ hierarchy, creating a competitive reality he must face if he wants to reclaim an important role on the team.
Sung Joon plays Yoon Yi Seok, a sidearm pitcher who became the Miracles’ ace after Hae Hwan stepped away. Yi Seok genuinely wants Hae Hwan to return, but on the field they are unavoidable rivals competing for the same leading position.
The rivalry gains another dimension as Yi Seok watches Hee Seung from nearby and begins to experience an unexpected emotional change. That development places him at the intersection of the sports competition and romantic storyline without erasing his friendship or professional connection to Hae Hwan.
Kim Shin Rok plays Dong Chi Young, chief executive of Donghaeng and a veteran agent known as a formidable negotiator. She handles player contracts, free agency, salary talks and long-term career planning, making her the character who most clearly represents the business machinery behind professional sports.
Players, agents and old relationships converge
The drama’s ensemble is structured around overlapping roles: players and agents, friends and rivals, mentors and junior colleagues. Each relationship creates a different kind of pressure as the characters pursue competition, love and individual ambitions within the same baseball world.
Director Lee Sang Yeob, whose credits include Yumi’s Cells, will oversee the series. The project’s premise gives him two parallel tracks to develop: the detailed process of an athlete’s comeback and the emotional uncertainty of first loves meeting again after more than a decade.
Your Ground has not yet announced an exact premiere date beyond its planned late-2026 broadcast. With the four central roles now confirmed, the drama’s foundation is clear: a lawyer learning baseball, a pitcher fighting his way back, an established ace facing a returning rival and an agency chief managing the stakes around them.
