A Bona Fide Killer and Love on the Menu Reach New Ratings Highs

Saturday’s Korean television ratings delivered a clear sign of momentum for two newer series. A Bona Fide Killer and Love on the Menu each recorded their strongest nationwide results so far, while several established titles continued to compete across the evening schedule.

The figures offer an early look at how viewers are responding as the current weekend lineup develops. One drama is building a following through a tense crime-driven premise, while the other is holding broad family-audience appeal with a more accessible Saturday slot.

A Bona Fide Killer builds early momentum

MBC’s A Bona Fide Killer reached a nationwide average of 9.4 percent for episode four. The result marked a new personal best for the series and represented a notable step up during its opening stretch.

The drama’s improvement is particularly meaningful because it is still establishing its rhythm with viewers. Early episodes often determine whether a weekend series can turn initial curiosity into routine viewing, and the fourth-episode result suggests that its audience is expanding rather than fading after the premiere.

Its performance also came in a competitive time period. SBS’s Flex x Cop 2, airing in the same slot, posted a nationwide average of 5.8 percent for its second episode. That placed the two series in a closely watched early-season contest, even as their stories and tones appeal to different audiences.

Love on the Menu leads Saturday viewing

KBS 2TV’s Love on the Menu delivered the night’s largest result. Episode five averaged 13.4 percent nationwide, another personal high for the drama, and made it the most-watched program of any kind to air on Saturday.

The number gives the series a meaningful advantage as it continues its run. Reaching the top of the daily television chart is more than a single strong episode; it points to a program that has found a dependable audience and is sustaining attention beyond its launch.

For broadcasters, that consistency matters. Weekend dramas compete not only with one another but also with changing viewing habits, streaming options and live-event programming. A double-digit nationwide average remains a strong marker of mainstream reach in that environment.

A crowded evening keeps shifting

Other dramas also added context to the night. KBS 2TV’s The Husband matched its previous best of 7.5 percent with only one episode remaining, giving the series a stable lead-in to its finale. Its final chapter will now test whether it can convert that late-run steadiness into one more increase.

Elsewhere, tvN’s Spooky in Love began the second half of its run at 4.9 percent, while JTBC’s The Apartment Job recorded 4.7 percent. Neither result dislodged the leaders, but both show how dispersed the Saturday audience remains across cable and broadcast channels.

The latest results make the weekend landscape easier to read: Love on the Menu has emerged as the broadest Saturday draw, and A Bona Fide Killer is gaining ground quickly as a newer contender. With several series still early in their runs and one nearing its conclusion, the next episodes will reveal whether these new peaks become a lasting trend.
