Park Eun Bin Faces a Joseon-Era Mystery in ‘Spooky in Love’

Park Eun Bin’s new drama Spooky in Love is preparing to deepen its supernatural mystery with a visitor from another era. New episode stills place her character, Cheon Yeo Ri, at the center of an unsettling encounter connected to Korea’s Joseon period, turning what begins as a public museum event into a case with emotional and historical stakes.

The tvN series blends occult suspense with romance through the unlikely partnership of Cheon Yeo Ri, a hotel heiress who can see ghosts, and prosecutor Kang Min Hwan, played by Ong Seong Wu. Although Min Hwan is dedicated and outspoken in his work, ghosts are the one thing that leave him genuinely frightened. Their contrasting abilities and reactions give the drama its central rhythm as they confront apparitions whose stories have not ended.

A museum event takes an unexpected turn

The upcoming episode moves the pair into a setting built around the display of museum artifacts. Cheon Yeo Ri and Kang Min Hwan attend the event together, only for a sudden incident to interrupt the gathering. The images suggest a sharp shift in mood: the characters are caught off guard amid a formal public space that should feel safe and carefully controlled.

That contrast is especially effective for an occult romance. That premise gives Park’s character a different kind of challenge from a routine supernatural sighting: she must work out why this spirit has sought her out and what could finally allow its story to move forward. The court painter’s profession may also give the mystery a visual dimension, linking memory, art, and the artifacts surrounding him.

For Kang Min Hwan, the encounter offers another test of the uneasy courage that defines his partnership with Yeo Ri. He cannot match her ability to perceive ghosts, yet he is repeatedly drawn into the consequences of what she sees. Spooky in Love is a remake of the 2011 film Spellbound, but its episodic format gives the central duo room to meet different spirits and uncover the personal histories attached to them. The Joseon-era storyline continues that approach while expanding the drama’s atmosphere beyond present-day romance and comedy into a more period-inflected mystery.
