BTS Leads July Star Brand Reputation Rankings As RESCENE Surges To No. 2
BTS topped July’s all-star brand reputation rankings, while RESCENE made a sharp rise to second place in a list spanning music, television, film, and sports figures.

BTS returned to the top of July’s star brand reputation rankings, leading a broad Korean entertainment list that measures public attention across music, broadcasting, film, variety, and other high-visibility fields. The monthly ranking placed BTS at No. 1 with a brand reputation index of 8,131,706, reflecting a 21.71 percent increase from the group’s June score.
The July results were compiled from big data collected from June 28 through July 28. The evaluation considered media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness, giving the ranking a wide view of how strongly public conversation surrounded each star during the period.
BTS’s return to first place shows the group’s continued power as a public brand even beyond the usual rhythm of album promotions. The ranking format does not simply measure music sales or chart placement; it tracks how often a name moves through news, online discussion, audience participation, and broader community response. On that basis, BTS remained the strongest all-star name in July.
RESCENE Makes A Major Jump
One of the most striking movements in the July list was RESCENE’s rise to second place. The girl group recorded a brand reputation index of 7,974,809, a 71.25 percent increase from the previous month. That sharp gain put RESCENE close behind BTS and ahead of several veteran public figures with deep name recognition.
The jump suggests a period of unusually strong visibility for RESCENE, whether through fan activity, public discussion, media exposure, or a combination of all three. For a rising K-pop act, placement near the very top of an all-star list can be especially meaningful because the ranking includes not only idol groups but also actors, broadcasters, trot singers, athletes, and film personalities.
Lim Young Woong took third place with a brand reputation index of 5,814,144. His continued presence near the top reflects his stable public profile and cross-generational reach, which often makes him one of the strongest names in Korean popular culture rankings. Actor So Ji Sub followed in fourth place with an index of 5,541,602, while entertainer Yu Jae Seok rounded out the top five with 5,303,088 after a 3.33 percent increase from June.
A Cross-Industry Top 30
The rest of the top 30 showed the mixed nature of the star ranking. CORTIS placed sixth, followed by actor Hwang Jung Min, IVE, Park Ji Hoon, and SEVENTEEN to complete the top 10. The next group of names included PSY, aespa, BLACKPINK, Yoon Kyung Ho, TWICE, Park Ji Hyeon, Lee Jung Hoo, Park Ji Sung, Gong Yoo, and Kim Yong Bin.
Further down the list, I.O.I, BIGBANG, LE SSERAFIM, Jun Hyun Moo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, Jun Ji Hyun, Sung Si Kyung, Ha Jung Woo, and Kim Jong Kook completed the top 30. The spread of names highlights how Korean entertainment visibility now moves across categories rather than staying inside a single industry lane. Idol groups appeared beside actors, comedians, singers, and sports figures, reflecting the way public attention is shaped by streaming, social platforms, broadcast appearances, fan communities, and news cycles at the same time.
For K-pop fans, July’s ranking is notable because multiple major groups remained prominent. BTS, RESCENE, IVE, SEVENTEEN, aespa, BLACKPINK, TWICE, I.O.I, BIGBANG, and LE SSERAFIM all appeared in the top 30, giving idol acts a substantial share of the list. That presence points to the genre’s continuing ability to generate sustained public conversation even when different groups are at different points in their promotion schedules.
The ranking also underlines the difference between short-term virality and durable recognition. A high monthly index can come from a burst of attention, but repeated appearances near the top usually require a larger ecosystem: active fans, consistent media interest, public familiarity, and enough new activity to keep conversation moving. BTS’s No. 1 position and RESCENE’s fast climb represent two different forms of momentum within the same measurement period.
July’s results therefore offer a snapshot of where attention gathered in Korean popular culture over a one-month window. BTS led the field with the month’s strongest overall brand score, RESCENE delivered the biggest headline-making rise near the top, and the wider top 30 showed how closely K-pop now sits alongside television, film, variety, and sports in Korea’s public attention economy.
