Kim Heechul has explained why he chose to stop appearing regularly on the long-running variety program Knowing Bros. The Super Junior member described the choice as a practical and professional decision shaped by the demands of touring and the expectations he places on himself as a television performer.

Speaking in a recently released online video, Heechul looked back on the period when Super Junior was marking its 20th anniversary with a busy tour schedule. The group’s concert dates often fell immediately after the program’s regular Thursday filming day, creating a difficult rhythm between studio work in Korea and performances elsewhere.

A schedule that became difficult to sustain

Heechul said the overlap could affect production planning. When concerts were scheduled for Friday through Sunday, he sometimes had to miss a recording or the team had to arrange filming in a way that accommodated his availability. For a veteran idol, concert touring also carries a physical cost. Heechul also reflected on what he learned from fellow cast member Kang Ho Dong.
